Cathal Cregg
Cathal Cregg is the Provincial Coaching and Games Manager for Connacht GAA. In this role, he is responsible for implementing and promoting the objectives and policies of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) both nationally and provincially. His work focuses on maximising participation and performance across the five counties of Connacht, encompassing twelve designated development areas. Cathal plays for Western Gaels GAA clubs and played for Roscommon senior footballers for 15 years while also representing Ireland in the 2014 International rules series.
Aoife O Rourke
Hi my name is Aoife O Rourke a 2 times Olympian from Roscommon. I am a full-time athlete, representing Ireland and Castlerea boxing club. I completed at the Tokyo and Paris Olympic Games. I achieved world gold and silver in 2025 and I am a 4 times European champion.
I was delighted to be a part of the connecting champions program with childhood cancer. It was very rewarding, and I felt comfortable chatting to the children, the Childhood Cancer Ireland team supported me throughout the programme.
Hugo Keenan
I am a professional rugby player and has proudly volunteered with the charity for the past four years. During that time, I have helped run the annual Family Day and is now excited to be part of setting up the Connecting Champions programme. I am passionate about bringing smiles, confidence and a bit of fun to kids and families, using sport, positivity and shared experiences to help young champions feel supported both on and off the field.
